Hi,

I'm Chelsea.

I currently live in Austin, TX, and I am a storyteller. I’m 28 years old, and I’ve spent time in 3 countries and 7 cities. The bulk of my childhood was spent in Bangkok, Thailand, with my family due to my dad’s work. Our family returned to Texas in 2007, which resulted in severe reverse culture shock and grief for me at age 15. I think that’s when I began to value my unique experience and journey of self-discovery, despite what others thought. I developed an understanding of the privilege I had to cultural exposure and diversity at such a young age. It shaped me and deepened my passions. I took many leadership roles in high school but found greater delight in books and journaling.

My faith is what carried me through those difficult years, and is still central to who I am today. The theme of my walk with God is trusting Him through the constant transition of life and self. I constantly practice self-awareness alongside the guidance of my faith. It is the leader of both my decisions and relationships.

I started my writing after a somewhat radical move to Australia in my college years. My blog was a display of finding beauty every single day, and it was very successful with high global views and engagement. It was the first time I realized I wanted to write for a living. Upon my return to the US, I worked creating content for a curated men’s fashion editorial. My life then took a turn when some friends and I founded a non-profit organization to mobilize young adults in Dallas, TX. I led our team as Director of Culture Adoption, with the motivation to maintain the focus of the “why” of our mission.

I took (yet another) unexpected turn when I transitioned to nanny for the well-known country band, Lady A, where I found a second family that will forever remain near to my heart. While this was a career detour of sorts, it was an incubation time for my healing, hopes, and dreams. From there, I worked to create content and manage accounts for a marketing firm. Then transition to my most recent job working as a writer and travel companion for Danielle Walker, or Against All Grain.

While my life, experiences, and career have been a compilation of unexpected transitions, the constant is writing. I love holistic health and wellness, identity and self-care, and interpersonal relationships. Most of my writing covers these topics.

When I’m not writing, I’m probably outside enjoying the sunshine or sitting on a soft couch with a wine glass and my favorite people (and puppy dachshund).
